apple and books on desk

Dear Staff and Community,

My name is Armando A. Medina, and I am super excited to join the John Muir family!

I have been in education for 23 years. I started as an elementary teacher, teaching Special education students. I also have Junior High and High School experience. I taught for 15 years and have spent the last 8 years as an administrator.

I was born in Mexico and grew up in Los Angeles. I joined the Navy after High School to thank this beautiful country for the opportunities and a chance to see the world. College was where I was headed to be an educator. I received my BA from UC Berkeley, my MA from CSU-Sacramento and moved to the valley in 1999. My goal is to listen, collaborate, and help our students be the. est possible version of themselves. I am fully aware that there is no such thing as a self-made person. WE all have received help from people in our lives. Many of those people were in school. John Muir is such a special place.

I also believe that Education is the Great Equalizer. I am a firm believer that education is a pathway that will open doors. That education begins at John Muir.

I have been married for 12 years to Stacey Medina. She is a 6th grade elementary teacher. I have 4 children living with me, ranging from a 7-year-old to a 15-year-old. I also have a 23-year-old son in the workforce.

I look forward to meeting all of you, to learning about John Muir, and together, keeping John Muir moving forward in excellence.

Sincerely,

Armando A. Medina
